About Dr. Asgarian

Dr. Kourosh Asgarian is a New Jersey native. He graduated from Rutgers College and earned his Medical degree in New York. He completed his Surgical Residency at Morristown Medical Center and his Cardiothoracic Fellowship at Albert Einstein/ Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He is Board certified in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Dr. Asgarian has been in practice for over 16 years. During that time he was Chairman of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Staten Island/ North Shore/ Lennox Hill hospital system, and then continued as Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at St Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson New Jersey.

Dr. Asgarian joined MASA in March 2016. He performs all aspects of Adult Cardiac Surgery. He has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, Off Pump CABG, Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve Repair, Robotic Cardiac Surgery, and TAVR (Needle Stick Valves). His New Jersey and New York state reported mortality rates are consistently among the lowest every year.

During Dr. Asgarian’s free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, three sons and dogs, as well as fishing and golfing.
