About Dr. Geller
Dr. Charles M. Geller joined Mid Atlantic Surgical Associates and Deborah Heart & Lung Center as Chairman of Surgery and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2023. He graduated summa cum laude with BA / MD degrees from the six year medical education program at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. He completed his general surgery residency at Westchester Medical Center / New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY and his cardiothoracic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. Dr. Geller maintains active board certifications by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. For twenty years, Dr. Geller practiced in Manhattan, NY at Lenox Hill Hospital and Mount Sinai Beth Israel where he also served as Director of the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. In 2014 he was appointed Associate Chairman of Surgery and system Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery for Crozer Health in Delaware County, PA.
An educator as well as a clinician, Dr. Geller has co-authored nearly 50 peer reviewed publications and has delivered almost 125 presentations at local, regional, and national meetings on various topics related to adult cardiothoracic surgery. He serves as a Clinical Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine and Clinical Associate Professor (Adjunct) at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. His professional associations include fellowships in the American College of Surgeons, American College of Cardiology, and American College of Chest Physicians as well as membership in the Society of Thoracic Surgery, Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Heart Association, Eastern Cardiothoracic Surgery Society, New York Society of Thoracic Surgery and Delaware Valley Society of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Geller performs all aspects of adult cardiac surgery. He has particular expertise and a long standing history of outstanding results in multi-arterial coronary revascularization, complex mitral valve repairs, aortic root procedures and surgical ablation for cardiac arrhythmias. For eight consecutive years, Dr. Geller was selected as a Top Doctor by both Philadelphia Magazine and Main Line Today magazine and was named “Best Cardiothoracic Surgeon” by the Delaware County Daily Times.
