Marek Polomsky, M.D.

Dr. Marek Polomsky is a native of Washington DC and a graduate of Northwestern University, where he graduated cum laude in Biology and Psychology in 2000. Dr. Polomsky received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland School Of Medicine in 2004.
He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry – Strong Memorial Hospital in 2011. He completed his cardiothoracic training at Emory University in 2014, having trained under the auspices of Drs. Robert Guyton, Vinod Thourani, and John Puskas. During his residency at the University of Rochester he spent 2 years as a cardiothoracic research fellow in the field of thoracic and esophageal physiology, and while at Emory University he conducted cardiac surgery outcomes research. He has presented his work in numerous scientific publications and at national meetings.
Dr. Polomsky is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Polomsky is proficient in all aspects of cardiac surgery including minimally invasive techniques to coronary revascularization and valve surgery, aortic surgery, as well as advanced heart failure surgery with mechanical circulatory support.
